Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

According to the 3e commentator Kuyt is not playing today. Dirk Coyt is on though.

Insua Insua, are you really a footballer?

Every Lille attack is on his wing. His positioning is terrible

Ok, diversing off the thread here, but it's actually a very hard sound for English speakers to pronounce, as the 'y' is a shortening of 'ij' in Dutch so his name can also be spelt 'Kuijt'.

This 'ui' sound is unique to Dutch, and took me ages to learn and I still struggle with it, but the closest sound in English is like the 'ou' in out but with more emphasis on the 'u'.

Helix's 'Cowt' is pretty good too!

Dutch lesson over, and back to the game!;)

Epic commentary here lads, nearly as good as watchin a match on teletext!!
Anybody care to give a brief summary of the half so far?

Can anyone link me with the direct page of the stream on 3e?
For some reason the "Watch Live" button on the website is just not working.

Basically more of the same of what we saw against wigan. Were not putting any pressure on the ball, Kuyt is the invisible man. Gerrard is still moaning at players. Insua is getting done down his wing.

Only positive is Torres and Babel have looked good AT TIMES linking up.

But really we are just playing ****.

    Torres, you're such a hero.

on your own, on your own, on your own.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Disjointed. No pattern. Very little in the way of football being played. Scruffy stuff.

Torres doing well vs four Lillians there.

Christ, I have hated watching us this year. But I still watch and still believe.....

Not sure if I should have posted that here or in The Cuckoo's nest :D

This is in fact our approach to football now. It's embarrassing, no better than what houllier had us playing

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,516 ✭✭✭Hoki

was that Lucas in the box :eek::eek:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,564 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

    Good chance for Torres there.

Find it so sad to see this. Think back 12 months, beating Man U 4-1, flying in the league, only lost 2 games and should have won it, now 12 months later, basically same team, apart from Alonso, season is a disaster and the team are desparate to watch.

    How can this happen?

Johnson offers us so much more going forward.

I'd try him on the right wing for a few games

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Wonder how many times Kuyt has touched the ball so far?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Two positives are that Lille seem to be lacking any pace at all, and that they are as poor as we are.

    FFS ref you donkey.

Our standard is reminiscent of the last days of houlier!! Rudderless.
Hate to say it, but unless we somehow win this cup, the end is nigh for Rafa.

    COME ON THE POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But it is fine because they are as bad at dead ball situations as us. :D

Yup they're no great shakes which is a relief.

Better than Wigan though, although that was never going to be too hard.

Is WW1 still being fought on the playing fields of Lille?

Shocking stuff a divit the size of a laptop c2001 was cut up at one point.

A terrific start from Lille but they couldn't keep it up and the sides end on even points, some good stuff from Johnson (that cross was in) and Torres/Babel. We can get something from this.

How boring has it been so far?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

On the pitch - the side Liverpool will be defending in the second half seems in worse condition - might make things easier for Torres.

Get Kuyt off now. Utterly invisible.

Looking at the highlights - there keeper has done ok for them, whereas Pepe's saves have been more routine.

    Torres is awesome.

I think we'll win this, still annoyed Aqu didnt start though. Our team is crying out for someone with his attributes and the managerstill wont play him, frustrating mand depressing.
