Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just finished watching Athletico v Sporting. Holy crap what a load of diving and feigning injury! The straight red card for the push in the chest, just before the end, nearly made me vomit.

Looking forward to Fulham taking on Juve now.

Zebina. little cut inside to find some space, past a player and a finish into the far side from the edge of the box. Quality goal.

Etuhu! Freekick from 40 yards ends up on the floor in the box, Etuhu smashes it, it gets a massive deflection and ends up slotted into the bottom right hand corner. Very lucky.

    Juve 2-1 Fulham

Another goal from a corner for Juve :(
    great shot from Trez
3-1 to Juve at half time

fulham haven't been playing too bad, just seem to have forgotten how to defend corners

It's really bizarre. Trezeguet in acres at the back post. Literally had 5 yards in all directions. They must just be really nervous playing in Europe or something.

They've been atrocious with every ball in the air pretty much. I mean the first corner was won by a Trezegol header, the second goalscoring corner was won because they couldn't clear the cross properly and Grosso nearly thumped it in and then they were shambolic at both corners and all the while we have to listen to that fool tell us how crap Juve are from set plays.

yeah. Defenders just not doing their jobs

weirdest thing was Dolan seemed to be confusing traditional italian football with traditional spanish football, saying how italian teams are all about slow patient build up play and holding onto possession... eh no Pat.

Been watching the Juve match. Despite the scoreline Juve are pretty sh*t. Serie A is in the doldrums.

    Valencia are just ridiculous.

Chance after chance after chance after chance.

Honestly, there are few teams that miss so many chances.

Yup. Fulham is about their level atm.

Interesting debate in Italy currently - should they upgrade their stadia and invest to be more like EPL/PL or just wait a couple of years for the bubble to burst in England/Spain. The model they aim for is Germany - full stadia, little debt.

I love Fulham under Roy Hodgson. He really has turned that club around. I only saw the first 15 mins of this match, Juve were all over them. 2-0 at Craven Cottage is not an impossible task. Will be hard though, Buffon best keeper in the world. So loyal to Juventus.

Buffon didn't play today, he's out injured and will miss the 2nd leg too.

I'm a big fan of Hodgson too, always try to watch Fulham in Europe these days. I like the way he has the team playing, well organised (except for tonight unfortunately) and they aren't afraid to get the ball down and pass it about a bit. He busts the myth that you need the top class players in order to play possession football.

hodgson is a fantastic manager, in the top 3 in the league for me

Whats the point of the 4th/5th official if he doesnt spot things like the Fulham attacker getting hung out of when getting a header on target a few mins after they scored?

Juve have already gone down the investing in a stadium route.

The new stadium should be completed by the start of the 2011/12 season.

Just to finish this off. The games ended:

Hamburger SV v RSC Anderlecht 3:1
    Rubin Kazan v Wolfsburg 1:1
Atlético Madrid v Sporting Lisbon 0:0
    Benfica v Marseille 1:1
    Panathinaikos v Standard Liège 1:3
    Lille v Liverpool 1:0
    Juventus v Fulham 3:1
    Valencia v Werder Bremen 1:1

Standard Liege looks to be through, and Hamburg & Juve are in a very good position to progress. All the other games are very much open after the first leg.

Atleti Sporting was a truely shocking game. Reyes did well though, he's having the season of his life.

Fulham vs Juve should be interesting. Juve's first two choice keepers are injured (Buffon & Manninger). The ancient and useless Antonio Chimenti played today but I'm hoping youngster Carlo Pinsoglio will play in London.
