Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello folks,

Can't believe I've never heard of these

    VSHRNEGH1.JPG

Sort of looks like the bast@rd son of an ES-335 & a Languedoc (Trey Anastasio's custom guitar) :)

Beautiful shape with a Fender Jaguar-like rear-end and the non-reverse firebird headstock looks great on it.

Anyone have any experience with one?
Or heard of anyone who's had experiences with one?
Or just fantasizes of having experiences with one (like myself)? :)

Haha, can't believe the Starcaster never even occurred to me.
    Must be getting old.

Anyway, I'm not one for maple fretboards & I generally prefer my guitars not to have a penis for a headstock but to each their own..

    :)

    yup! poor mans starcaster!

when are Fender ever going to cop on to themselves and re issue this?

Johnny Greenwood could make a mint in endorsements :D

I haven't looked at the prices these were selling for but knowing Gibson I'd imagine it was anything but a poor mans Starcaster.

I love the starcasters shape and all, but it just lacks that extra touch of class that the Vegas has with its ebony fretboard & block inlays... not to mention the lack of a phallic headstock..

A quick browse of the Fender site reveals they HAVE reissued the Starcaster ;)

Yeah, they cheaped out on buying a new copyright by re-using the Starcaster name

I really like the Starcaster headstock, I think the bevel is deadly, and the five knobs and WRHBs scream 'class' to me.

And if Jonny Greenwood were one for endorsements, I want a Tele Plus first :p (As a matter of interest, I've seen the guy from Cold War Kids plays a Starcaster, and a guy from a backing band I can't remember, but are there many other Tele Plus players?)

I'd say if Gibson re-issued it, it'd be about $5000 or something daft.

Mods, delete this post, only giving them ideas:mad:
