Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

By pressing the poewer button nothing happens. The joypad usually is dead so I have to plug that in tot he pc and turn it on that way.

Is it on its last legs?

Faceplate could be damaged? Take it off and try turning it on then. Use a paper clip or something to press the button.

could be your rf board(board behind the faceplate with the button to turn it on) buy another one on ebay there simple to replace all you do is get the case off undo the 3 screws holding it in pull it out and put the new one in

Before you start with getting into the thick of it can I advise you to check your powerblock this happens the odd time to me the light will go red and no power will get to the xbox.
If this has happened to you unplug it from the xbox the coloured light should go back to yellow and then plug it back in.
If the light stays red unplug it from the wall socket and put it back in if it stays red after that you need a new power plug
