This is a query that has been bothering for months.During the cold spell I saw what I thought were a pair of Mistle thrushes feeding of the cotoneaster berries.
But they were as big as pigeons.
The bird books say that Mistles are bigger than Song thrushes-song thrushes being 23cm, mistle thrushes 27cm. But I think these were much bigger than that -or was it that their feathers were so fluffed up against the cold??
Or were they another bird entirely?
    Anyone know?
    No pics, sorry

Without a pic...but I'd say you are correct in identifying them as mistle thrushes. While their build is different, they do approach a pigeon in size
