We got two loads here during the summer.
I'd say I will have to feed a beef ration with it if we go that route again

Feed along with a good energy source like maize.and you'll have rocket fuel

Don't really want to go down the maize road though.
If I was feeding 3 ingredients in the feeder it would be enough. Silage and something else that was premixed

Did u ever consider getting an independent nutritionist to advise on a diet especially for winter milkers???.money very well spent..if feeding brewers which is a good protein source you need to balance it with a good energy source(maize) as well as minerals etc .without knowing the make up of that beef mix it's hard to say if good or bad .i gave 2 weeks working in holland years ago in a high input system and the owner was unbelievably well clued in as to mixing a balanced diet with only 3 or 4 ingridents feed.diet was hi in energy and never over 16% protein.

Ye I was thinking of getting in independent nutritionist alright. When we mixed our own meal we never had the problem of cows loosing condition.
You know any good ones Mahoney?
I'll only milk the 30 cows this winter, won't milk on any spring ones I'd say I will be tight on quota so want to look after them well
