    Hi there

Purchased a new motor and the insurance will be up on the old one this week. I won't be selling it anytime soon and when I do I may even break it for parts as its pretty much a heap of junk.

I taxed it until August 2010 though. Can I get this back somehow? Or does it only work if the car has been scrapped?

    thanks

assuming your in Dublin - http://www.dublincity.ie/SiteCollectionDocuments/motor_tax_refund_form.pdf

needs 3 full months of tax left after you submit the form and it starts on the first month after you submit it, so you have tax till August,

submit the form tomorrow and you will get a refund for April, May, June, July and August.

So which reason does he pick for a refund ? Still seems like it needs to be scrapped/stolen or exported for him to get any tax back
