Eircom broadband Upgrade; Price

    I'm currently on a 1mb broadband connection (with talktime package)
    I'm looking to upgrade it just to a 3mb with the talk time package so I can play on xbox live without loosing my head over lag :P
    Does anybody know the price difference in just upgrading it and is the price different to upgrade rather than 'buy product' (as it comes with a netopia router which isn't much use as I have one)

    Iknorr, When I upgraded to 7Mb from 3Mb a good while ago I got a new router, but that was in good economic times. Dont know about know.

    At the moment unless there is a reason to replace the modem, like if you are ordering voip or upgrading to an adsl2+ package you will get a new modem. If it is just moving from 3mb to 7mb you won't get a new one.

    If however you cancel you current contract and sign up again they will send you a new modem in the welcome pack :)

    Strange...when the parents upgraded they never got a new modem. i was on the phone each day for about 2 weeks annoying them about it. They never gave in.
