Find a nice sensible yoke for 4k for me!

Looking for something in a family saloon/hatch, something in a 1.6-1.8 petrol around 2004 with decent mileage.

I like Mazda6, Mondeo, Avensis, Maybe Volvo S40, Focus, Maybe an Octavia if it's not 1.4, Leon, Lancer, Galant - open to suggestions if they're good value!

Just no French or Italian rubbish and no old German stuff either!

Not interested in 00 Golf TDIs for mad money. want to be up in years for smallish money!

pity the mileage on the S40 is wrong.

Would you consider an S60, Colm? There's great value to be had on them now and they are a far superior car to the S40.

Despite what the advert says, the last one is a D5 (diesel) by the way. It also has a very good spec.

That might be a 1.8 litre actually. I think it's only the model badged '1.8t' that's the 2.0 litre.

Ah right, I thought the 1.8 litre models had no badge on the boot and the 2.0 litre models were badged 1.8t. Having a closer look I can see that it is indeed 1.8i on the boot.

Those are actually a 1.8 opel engine, had one with work for a bit in 2008. horrid gear ratios, revs like mad in 5th.


Kinda loking at an 04 Toledo 20V now, but keep the suggestions coming please!

Colm, that last Volvo S60 that Volvoman posted seems like a right gem of a bargain. Lovely looking car and low milage for under €5K! That's unreal!

because if it's tax purposes..when you break it down over the year it's not so bad!

On a second glance, that might actually be a T5 all right, as it's listed on cartell as one and it doesn't have the downturned exhaust pipe of the diesel. I wonder why it's badged as a D5

Still, 250bhp from 5 cylinders ain't bad.:)
