Water green in terrapin tank: ok?

I bought a new water filter for my young terrapin. After a week the water doesn't seem dirty, but it's very green and quite cloudy. Apart from the colour and cloudyness, the water seems ok, it's not brown or full of little bits (as it was when my last filter broke) Is this alright? Or should I check the filter? It's…

Is this alright? Or should I check the filter? It's definately running properly, and water is coming out of it.

make sure the tank isnt in direct sunlight, or that you are not leaving your light on for to long during the day,
