Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Block shed
Folks, I need to build a shed out the back garden. it'll be about 10 x 14 and i was thinking about doing it myself. I'm handy enough with my hands and don't really want to pay over the odds.

What's the story - I know i don't need planning permission. I was going to use 4" solids and a 'Brickies Mate". Is that enough? Will it be strong enough?

Any other comments are very welcome!

Are you sure you don't need planning.

Also, 100mm concrete walls isn't enough imo. 300 cavity or 215 blocks

I assume the OP means 10 x 14 feet rather than metres. If it is 10 x 14 feet, then generally no, you don't need planning (as long as other exempt develment regulations are met - google them).

As Mellor said, 100mm block is not really sufficient.

Thanks lads. Yeah it's 10x14 foot, so I don't think planning is an issue - will check though.

Looks like i'll be using cavity blocks. I'm being quoted 90c per block to lay - is that a good price?
