Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Old Long Hill, Lough Dan Road, Laragh (tea stop), Wicklow Gap, Lacken & Lakes, Bohernabreena

Hilly but not the hilliest (avoids Sally Gap/Lugalla.) Very nice route.

I was on that road yesterday. AVOID IT!

The winter has stripped all the tarmac from the road in the area just after the turn-off for Lough Dan. It's very steep there (feels like <15%) and the surface is now slick mud covered with stones. It's very difficult to get up without the rear wheel slipping and I don't even want to think about what it would be like coming the other direction.

Go over the gap or through Roundwood instead.

Right. If going over the gap not sure that descending the Glenmacnass side would be a good idea. Maybe do the route in the opposite direction and go up the Glenmacnass side. It is OK to go up but the road is gone in places, wouldn't be a nice descent.

    Evening..
Missed the Gold Cup but did the most of that route this afternoon. Callary Hill from Enniskerry, then Roundwood Laragh (Hippy cafe stop for cuppa Joe) then up Glenmacnass.

Road not as bad as some are quoting...3 bad patches up on the way to the top of waterfall and then all fine.

Up to Sally Gap and then u can go straight on towards Glencree and Enniskerry or descend towards Roundwood (nice climb over Lough Tay I think it is)

Road back to Roundwood at the lower parts is again a bit patchy. Really lovely spin today..barely any wind and spring in the air...
