I just read this as I was browsing through dvd.co.uk today: http://www.dvd.co.uk/news.htm#N6571 I didn't even know that Conan was being remade. I hope it's nice and gory like the original :)

It's casting ago go on Marcus Nispel's Conan remake. The guy who previously brought us the rather good redos of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday The 13th has been knee-deep in the casting process with Ron Perlman (Hellboy) having recently taken the place of Mickey Rourke in the new set-up. Perlman will be playing the war-hardened dad to Jason Momoa's infamous Barbarian.

I didn't even know that Conan was being remade. I hope it's nice and gory like the original

Actually an interesting discussion on the choice of Conan on the film forum here,

A lot of the arguements make sense to choose him, perhaps more so than the choice of Arnie for the origional films. (which were awesome!)

Was it just me (or just atlantis) or does he only have one way of standing? or was it just the one way of looking angry. I can't really see him being Conan or something like Conan.
