Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Until he starts getting a few assists or whatever, the masses are going to continue believing that he is.

Wat channel is showing this game tonight lads? cheers.

Also think after being at the pompey game monday night that we should just start with mascherano holding at start yossi instead of lucas. Dissapointed not to be seeing aquilani again but hopefully he will be fit for sunday.

Yeah, but he's not a quality attacking midfielder. Benni is.

He has never put in an attacking display like Aqua the other night v Pompy. Never.

He quite limited when attacking, lets be honest here. Not slagging him off, it's just a fact.

For me, it's him or Mash in the Pool team, not both.

these guys are making the same excuses for Stevie this season.

or they just haven't watched us play.

or they're just talking general sh*te, the first cliché that comes into their head.

Gerrard is not coming deep to take the ball away from Lucas.

He is not working his ass off.

Gerrard is p*ssing about like a brat, and not bothering his ass half the time.

    He is indeed.

Just saying I'd rather Benni start, that is all.

I do however want Lucas/Mash starting together on Sunday. That's how to play v united

It was the two defensive mids comment that drew me out of my shell :)

Lucas gets further up the field than Alonso did. He's not a DM.

People will continue to call Lucas a DM until he steps up his attacking game. He has shown glimpses of attacking ability, mostly in regards to some nice through balls, but he has to improve his shooting and be more consistent with his attacking passing, or he will forever be known as a DM by some fans.

The defensive comment was a mistake by me.

A more correct comment would be, we need more creativity in CM !!

Lucas and Mash generally don't create a whole pile. That a fair comment?

I'm just peeved because I like Benni !!

    Anyway, C'mon Reds

good to see lucas VERY noticably further up the pitch than Masch.

nice from Babel, should've passed in hindsight.

Until he starts getting a few assists or whatever, the masses are going to continue believing that he is.

In games when other Liverpool players step up to the plate and perform Lucas will always look good as he links the play quite well. The problem more often that not is that he doesn't directly influence games with goals or assists in attacking areas. We don't need a player like that with Masch in midfield as they just don't compliment each other at all.

I actually thought that Gerrard was quite poor again against Portsmouth but the difference was Aquilani was prepared to try and play the killer pass or link up with players in the last third at every opportunity and not just play the link pass. Its funny as with some confidence Lucas has become a little more adventurous but alot of the time he looks like a duck out of water and IMO he can never become a player that works with Masch.

    Opr

Lucas should have been booked for that dive. I actually thought the 5th official (or whatever he's called) was calling the Ref to indicate the dive.
