Mountain bike to hybrid conversion

Hey chums, I'm converting my Specialized into a hybrid which means adding a rack ditching the knobblies and changing the RST suspension to a solid fork. Thing is I've never done this before and don't know where or what to get re the fork? Just want something cheap and good quality that'll fit a Hardrock frame. Any ideas?…
