I am literally beyond shocked. I cannot believe, believe, that Torres missed that. I literally thought that was it, that the equaliser. Wow.

lol it would have been hilarious had the penalty spot been responsible for that miss. It would been beachball-proportions hilarious.

How did they both miss there. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,420 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Ah well, we created the chance and Torres missed it. Same as the Wigan game.

Any reasonable look at our remaining PL schedule would have penciled this in as a loss. The points need to be picked up elsewhere.

your attitude seems to suggest you wouldn't have cared if Rafa had sent out the under 18s today and saved our first team for the important games in the coming weeks. laughable.
Just because we're not expected to win, doesn't mean we shouldn't try

Rooney has had a great second half

They have tried buddy. They came out of the blocks like a steam train at full tilt; they've put a ton of pressure on the last 10 minutes and carved out a gimme of a chance for our prime attacker. What more do you want from this type of fixture exactly given the match up of these teams in terms of form and ability?

Blame Agger for not having at least 2 more attempts to tie this up.

All over, poor result, primarily due to a poor decision from the ref.

Liverpool won't be in Europe next year I'm afraid. Torres will be off in the summer no doubt.

    Full Time.

    Manchester United 2 - 1 Liverpool

    Not Arrogant.

    Just Better.

When torres gets worked up, he tends to make mistakes. Somebody needs to sit that boy down. Or he needs to grow up himself.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Meh, conservative tactics did Liverpool in ultimately not the ref.

We were easily the better team though

how many attempts had liverpool? 2 up to the 75th minute, not sure after that

    i love Gary Neville

    That'll do!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,785 ✭✭✭killwill

That sulk is really becoming Torres'trademark now, eh?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,420 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Ah well, the penalty decision key. Great effort from the side to pull it back late, Torres should have finished the opening created.

    Get in there!

Overall neither side played at their best but United deserved it. Happy for Park who always gives his best.

    Now come on Blackburn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,003 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

    the messiah.

    Lovely Stuff.

United deserved that, Liverpool created very little.

    Now Come on Blackburn

**** yes. Huge huge ****ing victory, huge.

And don't think this was easy, it was bloody difficult, and by in large, I think we played poorly, and Torres coulda drawn it level easily.

3 points for United, a big big 3 points. 3 points dropped for Liverpool, 7 points possibly behind Spurs.
