Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The league means nothing until the next El Clasico, tis a shame

    ^ Lies

Barcelona need to use these games to perfect a few things like
-get Ibra and keita some vital play time,
-keep Henry's spirits high because he will be dreading facing Arsenal.

Also I am interested to see if this "rift" between Higuain and Ronaldo gets any worse xD

Think the Barral goal celebration was in honour of a Sporting fan who was cremated wearing a Barral shirt

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭jaykay74

equaliser looked like a handball. not like Madrid to get a generous decision. freekick that led to it was extremely soft as well.

And some people were questioning teams cracking at the Bernabeu??

At least away teams are starting to make Madrid work for their points. Not like, say, Racing Santander, who lost 4-0 at the Nou Camp and had two players booked the previous week to get their suspensions out of the way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,476 ✭✭✭✭Ush1

And some questioning that refs don't favour Madrid there?
Clear peno for Gijon denied and Madrid then score. Some season for Higuain, can't wait till they sell him!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭jaykay74

Ref is a disgrace. Gijon might as well pack up.

I agree...Gijon were very much in the game until 2-1..

They showed plenty of belief to win in Madrid, unlike what some would think..

Never heard Sid commentating before, he's quite good.

Love his bit on football weekly podcast. this is the 1st time I've heard him on commentary. hopefully he is doing the Barca game tomorrow.

    Espanyol 1 up :(

Have Sevilla given up playing football? 2-0 down and they're not even trying.

yup rumours of pay cuts and hatred of jimenez floating around.

Our spanish based members may be able to fill us in more, but not looking good for sevilla or jimenez.

sucks balls tbh, knowing we are more than capable of beating any team in the league yet only rise to it a few times a season.

Ramos is out of work atm, wouldnt be surpirsed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Really pathetic performance from Sevilla. In reality, Espanyol could have won 4 or 5-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,822 ✭✭✭Morf

Shame Athletic couldn't take advantage of Sevilla losing. Decent result to draw though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

I was "slammed" in another thread for saying that its the end of the line for Jiminez, but he is done for now. They have gone from being arguably the best team in Spain (they bottled it a few years ago), and the most attractie to watch, to this shower of shíte. The president needs to swwallow hos pride and roll out the red carpet for Juande Ramos.

dont think i would put Seville up there as the best team in Spain, but they should certainly be challenging for the title, too much quality not to

Looks like Jiminez position is becoming untenable alright

Fans never accepted him because of his conservative style but I still think he did a decent job. Ramos' boots to fill are too big for him.

Puts into perspective that collapse against Real Madrid aswell.

Valencia going 4-5-1. Villa up top on his own.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,476 ✭✭✭✭Ush1

Valencia cutting through them at will. Should be at least 3 nil up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Chance after chance after chance for Valencia.

Never heard Sid commentating before, he's quite good.

He always commentates for foreign broadcasters. He used to do it for Real Madrid tv, or at least Real Madrid tv got the rights to show games from the broadcaster he commentated for. He's by far my favourite pundit, and despite being a Blanco at heart, he is always fair to Barca, and I think secretly has a desire to knock Fred the Frenchy off his perch (you'll know what I'm saying if you ever watch extra time on real madrid tv).

Messi will start despite speculation he wouldnt due to a dental problem.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Valencia look shattered. Backed Almeria to win at 6/1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    Zaragoza lineup:
Roberto; Diogo, Jarosik, Contini, Ponzio; Arizmendi, Gabi, Edmilson, Eliseu, Ander, Suazo

    Barca lineup:
Valdés; Alves, Milito, Piqué, Maxwell; Keita, Busquets, Touré; Pedro, Ibrahimovic, Messi

Where is Iniesta ? Shall have to investigate.

    2-0

    Maybe not so tired!

1 or 2 signings, Valencia would be a top top side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Villa really has been the man tonight. If Valencia lose him this Summer, I would fear for their Champions League qualification chance next year.
