Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Lets call him Galactito ;)

You say marketing, compare him to any of the other Galacticos I mentioned and he still doesnt compare. I cant honestly see him shifting shirts in the volumes of any of Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Ronaldo, Kaka or C. Ronaldo. In fact I cant see him even being in the same ball park. I stand by what I say he is not your traditional Galactico be it in terms of achievement or marketing.

20,000 people showed up for his unveiling. He was hardly unknown. Not on the level of of Ronaldo or Kaka, but he's at a much earlier stage in his career and only entering into his full earning potential. Perez wouldn't have paid €41m for him if there was a significant return to be had. He's a galactico, no other way of putting it.

I'm sure Rooney or Gerrard would fill that void

Wouldn't have a clue who would be the most marketable Asian market wise

It's been proven before, Dong Fangzhuo.

So where would David Villa slot in with the list exactly then? Or would he be another anomally?

Goalscroing hero of the national team? Especially if they win the World Cup, thats pretty marketable.

Agreed, he'd essentially be like a better Morientes, or a less home grown version of Raul.
