Ip Address Ranges and Providers

I remember seeing a link a few years ago to a txt file where someone had documented ip ranges and their providers, does anyone know of any site which tells who provides what IP ranges (worldwide).

I have a nifty piece of software which tells me what IP ranges are within a country but I would appreciate if I could fine which ISP provides these, thanks

can you not just use something like

http://ip-lookup.net/

and look at what the hostname is?

Not every IP address has reverse DNS configured to get a hostname from an IP address. And some ISP's allow for the reverse DNS to be modified by the customer.
