Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would suggest they don't have access. hence they ask you to produce it.

You might actually talk to the Garda press office (details on www.garda.ie) and the RSA. You might get more information than you expect.

Im not sure on this one. With regards to bikes the new NPR camara systems in the garda cars can read the licence plates of motorbikes and know if the bike has a restrictor fitted. They can also tell if the owner of the bike is on a learner permit or a full licence. Logic would say yes they can but as is the way with some cars there not always driven by there owners. I have a 1994 mini that my girlfriend drives. If the NPR camara read the plate it would say i have a full licence.

How can they know that unless the bike is factory restricted? Can you provide a link?

The only people who know if it's not factory restricted are the mechanic who fitted it, the owner and the company that supplies the kit. I can't see the Gardaí having access to a database in another country.

The after market restriction certs are worthless, you don't get any insurance discount, as you can pay €200 to get it fitted and remove it the next day. So why would the Gardaí trust them?

    Edit/

This is the 2nd time you've posted that the Gardaí can tell if a bike is restricted. Can you provide evidence to back it up?
