Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

have to put my bikes (only 2) away for the year due to injury.

should i be oiling and greasing everything before putting them into garden shed for 9-12 months if I want them to be in working order when I'm allowed out again??

I would have thought so, yes. In fact, I would have guessed that over lubing the drivetrain would be best for keeping away moisture. It won't be cycled so there is no risk of it picking up grit and accelerating wear.

Of course, this would mean you would need to clean it again after you take it out. Grease everything, use light oil on the cables and apply a touch of grease to the ends of any bolts/screws to stop them corroding (it just looks crap).

Let the air out of the tyres too.

I don't really know if these are practical tips, it's probably what I would do though if I was storing a bike.

Alternatively you could sell it and have an excuse to buy a new bike next year :)

If possible, hang it up or the tyres will develop flat spots.

If you have the space take it apart and find space indoors, i pack my summer race bike away in a bike box over the winter that way theres no chance of anything happening it
