Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Here's another option -

25GB Storage for free on Microsoft's Skydrive. Of course your locations must have darn fine broadband. Careful as there is a limit to the size of a single file - 50MB I think, which won't be a problem for your photos but I'm thinking your video could possibly/may be likely to get bigger than that.

i plan on doing something similar but i think my backup will be one of these:
    http://go.iomega.com/en/products/external-hard-drive-portable/prestige-portable-series/prestige-compact/?partner=4725#overviewItem_tab
which i'll carry in a seperate bag and then also burn photos to DVD every week or two and then post 'em home

It says 25GB but it doesn't have a cap as yet really.
MS knows it are not concerned about fixing it. (I have a bit of an inside source on this one)

I have used for dumping everything off the camera while away from home.

When I was travelling I used to keep online copies + every once in a while I would get the memory card copied onto CD in one of them 1-hour film yokes and I would them send to my mother who kept them all safe.

Another option could be something like carbonite- they take full backups of folders. There's another service I've used whose name escapes me. You could have a service like that upload and keep your entire docs folder as you go along.

Interesting, we will be [hopefully] heading to the US in Oct for our daughter's surgery, will be there a month at least. I know while I'm there I'll take 1000's of photos as I've never been any further afield than London!

Plenty of memory cards id what I was thinking tbh.

Dropbox might also work nicely for you. It's free for 2 gb and it automatically syncs the data on all the comps it's installed on. Basically you can upload from your laptop and when someone turns your home computer on it will automatically sync the files. That way you have a local copy of them at home.

Personally I use an Archos which is very good but that won't be any help if anything is lost or stolen, I make sure this is always hidden away safely.

I have an Epson P7000 which is handy for backing up memory cards while away
