Almunia, sagna, verm, gallas, clichy, song, fabregas, rosicky, arshavin, rvp, bendtner.

There are major claims for gibbs, denilson, diaby, rosicky, nasri andeduardo to be included in that line up.

Chelsea is cech, bosingwa, terry, carv, cole, essien, lampard, mikel, malouda, drogba, anelka.

claims to be made for joe cole, kalou, ballack, ivanvic, zirkov...

Is it a media myth that arsenal have crap depth. Because we've been missing bendtner rvp gallas cesc and clichy for parts of the season. Yet still within touching distance

Hold on a minute here, do you even understand the concept of a squad?

You're argument that Arsenal have good swaud depth is to say your first 11 is strong?

And then to add irony to it, you include in possible additions to that starting 11 a player that is alread in it!

Arsenal fans are only making half the point - having lots of players isn't strength in depth. Arsenal haven't been top two since '04, as someone said, they have top 4 strength in depth, not Champions strength in depth. Until proven otherwise.
I've never said Arsenal's issues were a lack of depth; I think they don't have a team that can win big tournaments for other reasons, but not depth.

It is stupid, because again Arsenal fans seem to be suggesting they are worse off than any other team because they got injuries. Eh ... welcome to a premier League campaign.

No there was a comparison of who had more injured players between Utd and Arsenal. In fairness Arsenal have had a sick amount of injuries compared to other teams in the last few years.

The reason why Arsenal haven't won much is because of an extremely young and inexperienced squad has slowly but surely growing up. There has been a lack of investment due to reduced funds plus selling/ losing a few players along the way...Flamini Hleb Touré etc. Added to that you have the money of Chelsea and the absolute class that was Utd with Tevez Rooney Ronaldo etc which in fairness was too good for us.

Add Djourou and Walcott to that too actually. Djourou has missed the whole season and Walcotts taken part in less than half our games and complete 90 minutes once.

So are we sure their strength in depth is so much better, really?

No, I'm just highlighting the defences. It's the one area where Chelsea are stronger.

For some reason (since RVF was injured) I always keep thinking that Arsenal will drop away in the title race, usually citing the lack of a top class CF.

Games are running out though and Arsenal are looking stronger each game.

I hope they do it tbh.

It'd show that a club run well, without huge debts can compete with the best. As a pool fan I'm envious of that tbh.

It's been serviced. £100m paid off in a 6 month period. Take that Malcolm Glazer :D

There's still the bonds on the stadium to be paid off, but that works out at something like £17m per annum, considerably less than the additional revenue the stadium brings in. But the short term loan that was the immediate cause for concern has been practically paid off.

Talking with a mate here and it seems he's using the percieved automatic comeback that Arsenal's squad isn't strong enough if they get any injurys. In comparasion to the apparent never ending abundance of talent that Chelsea have. I'm sorry united fans but i don't see anderson or fletcher as depth, let alone owen and diouf. So i want to limit this to just Arsenal vs Chelsea as it's my opinion it will be these two teams contesting the title.
Now in the media we are reminded of how if arsenal get a few injurys they will fall apart. Yet we've had these injurys and we're still in touching distance and i think that if we didn't have these injurys we would be clear of the league by now.

Anyway compare the squads and the " depth " factor. This imo is arsenal's best 11

    Player Injury Date Reported
    Big List

I think this list of flawed. First off, its based on club statements, which different clubs have different policies on. Second, number of injuries doesn't reflect the amount of injuries. To get a valid analysis, I think you'd need to

    Determine a common First team
    Determine the squad

Look at the amount of time a player has been injuried for. Add it all up, so it would look like this:

    Man Utd:

First Team weeks of injuries - 12
Squad weeks of injuries - 35

Then would you care to do this? Until someone actually compiles a list better there's no point making those dismissive comments. It's the most accurate point of reference we have. It maybe incorrect in its specifics but it so overwhelmingly points to Arsenal having more than the rest that it's hard to see how it could be so consistently wrong.

It's like people dismissing transferleague.co.uk. Fair enough some of the specifics maybe incorrect, but it's still pretty reflective of how much the teams spend relative to each other.

See this is why I stay away from the sports forums as you get a pack of pretentious ignorant with little knowledge of the sport of football throwing out their opinions thinking their flawless and unobjectionally correct.

Fair enough stay that way. Start watching more football as a fan of the sport and not as a fan of a team and you'll be very interested in some things you see... or maybe not.

Says the guy who thinks a straight red card is an automatic three match ban.

I think you need to improve your "knowledge of the sport of football"
