Caught up to Dexter on real time. I'm starting to struggle with it. Getting very dull.

So started looking for something to watch today in between Dexters. Found this programme called Wilfred. I have watched two episodes and it's pretty weird so far.

I started rewatching The OC as well. HOW IS IT TEN YEARS OLD?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

Just finished series 2 of Love/Hate. It's so good! Why didn't people start talking about the show until mid-way through series 3?

All during 2010-October/November 2012 Love/Hate was a footnote, sort of like The Clinic or Raw as one of those RTE shows that was meh but you might like it, then BAM! People start freaking the **** out over it...

    Evening all!

At long last, tonight I watched "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"

    Cracking film. :)

Dad came in with a load of DVDs from my grandad, among them a 1983 tv movie "The Scarlet and The Black". Surprisingly good, has Gregory Peck as an Irish priest (with a semi-decent accent) living in the Vatican during WW2 who is helping Jews escape the Nazis. I was rather impressed, I have to admit!

Finished off season 3 of Justified over the weekend. It's excellent. Now that breaking bad has ended its probably my favourite show on tv.

I thought it was fairly forgettable tbh.

    Each to their own. :P

It has (arguably) the best assembled cast of any film in the last 10 years, and is based on the real life criminal James Bulger. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitey_Bulger Maybe it's just because I watched Taxi Driver and Goodfellas recently (and American Gangster and Scarface), but I thought it was right at the top of its genre.

Is it fairly accurate to Whitey Bulger's life? I'm fairly interested in that whole area, but if I've researched his life so much I'm worried I'll think that it's brutal even though it's supposed to be a decent film.

Who knows, North Korea might be a utopia... Maybe they make it look like a kip on purpose to keep people away, then pretend to be making it look slightly better to the few tourists they do let in... crafty bastards!
