Well coughlan, I see your in a rich vain of form. Which team in cork would you have more faith in winning tomorrow, kilbrittain or clonakilty?

I've just had a look at the odds on pp of my own countys club games and they are very attractive so im looking for 1 team to make up a treble.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

    thanks mate,

am well clonakilty won the county last year but were an embaressment when they went on to represent cork, drink was prob a major factor though as the game was played like a week after the county final,

    anyway,
the bet that stands out for me is Bishopstown v St Nicholas in the senior football on the 10th..if any team is going to take the county medal off of favourites nemo rangers it will be bishopstown, they have a good few of cork players and shoould be way too strong,

i will be lumping on them and cork +12 in a double, both are at odds of 1/3.

mind you, im very confident of kilbritain and clonakilty winning too,but i will go with,,,

Bishopstown @1/3 represents value and will win..

hope it wins for your sake and mine;)

    What bookies you using?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

more often than not pp,this case is no different.

    cork plus 12 @1/3
    bishopstown win @ 1/3

    double works out at 1.78

  • Registered Users Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Sir Vival

    Ok i'll go with bishopstown.

Opinions on O'Donavon Rossa vs. St Finbarrs (@1/3)? Any reason why finbarrs shouldn't win this easily like they've already qualified (not sure if it's knockout, dont know how cork system works:p), there missing players, injury, suspension etc. There top of div. 1 with 70% win rate and averaging over 16pts a game whereas Rossa are just doing ok in div. 2. Any idea if it's a home venue for either team or neutral?

    Thanks

    yes st.finbarrs should win,

they both havent played championship in weeks but have been playing plenty of both challenge games and league, fins have the distraction of juggling both football and hurling,,they were beaten narrowly in the final last year against clonakillty..but they too are up against a team with title hopes and wouldnt be suprised if it was a very close game..
finbarrs to win..not betting on it though

here are my selections for this weeks games(cork),,

    clonakillty
    st.finbarrs
    carrigaline
    clyda rovers
    cill na martra
    castletownbere
    glanworth
    inniscarra v youghal= draw
    tracton
    kilbrittain
nemo rangers v us(valley rovers) were 7-1 to win,,playing the favourites half the team are the cork panel, dereck kavanagh, kerrigan, james masters, niblock, mehigan, martin and alan cronin.:o
    bandon

very confident now for bishopstown after reading the papers dis morning..
so too for clonakilty and kilbrittain.

  • Registered Users Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Sir Vival

Did you hear the result of the kilbrittain game?

EDIT: Just seen cork gaa's official website: Dromina 1-12 Kilbrittain 1-17

Great stuff here's hoping clonakilty do the business aswell, added them to accumulator along with kilbrittain and my two ros teams who are playing tonight.

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

no problem,;) ya i was actually at the game because a few of the friends were playing...**** game but money in the bank, hopefully when clon win..:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Sir Vival

Just checked cork gaa website. Clonakilty 2-9 llen Rovers 0-13, many thanks again for the advice. My two ros bets came in comfortably aswell so i'm beginning to claw back some of my log losses (i think it was jinxed from the start )

Probably will include Bishopstown in my next selection.

Handicap was a draw in the end, them odds compilers are getting good.

    Unlucky dude.

  • Registered Users Posts: 528 ✭✭✭Sir Vival

Well coughlan, any value in Bandon v Kanturk @8/15 tonight or will it be a close affair? I see Kanturk are playin in the lowest division and not doing very well at that. (Played 7, won 2 , lost 5). I'd imagine you know a bit about Bandon seeing as their in yer own division (how have they played as much as 9 games and ye as little as 3...? )

Was thinking of a Bandon/Bishopstown double... but i'll wait for your opinion.

cork + 12 handicap bet lost, unfortunately the handicap was a draw,,at 1 stage the handi was +18 at evens, should of lumped on but the burst from cork in the last 10 mins could not of been foreseen...
kilkenny were simply class....all that was needed was 1 more point,
    feck it anyway

    Bandon v Kanturk @8/15
its a match that i will have a considerable amount of interest in,bandon were my nap at the start of the championship to win it this year, now that valley rovers are out of the division it should be clear sailing for bandon, there main competition is gone..
was out in bandon last sat for a few drinks and was shocked to see the whole team out on the piss,,know most of them through school and i dont think they are taking it that seriously, they have emmence talent and capability but that final killer instinct is missing..
i would still fancy bandon to win but would like the odds to be more like 8/13 or even 4/6 as thats what i feel there chances are.
i havent decided whether i will back them yet but will let ya know..

    verdict: Bandon

now bishopstown, if only the handicap won i would be laughing..
i should be putting €300 on bishopstown to get that 100 loss back from the bet that they were in ,but im not going to try and chase that loss,
they will win though and also the county, mark my words..;)

to answer your question about the amount of games we have played well thats simple,,we are club that plays both football and hurling at a very high standard,,football=senior,,,hurlng=intermediate premier one devision below senior..
bandon dont, they only play hurling, and badly at that..so have a lot more free time on there hands.:p

    value gone in both seletions,
the sign of the drift gives me more confedence that both will win.

i know for a fact that bishopstown will win,and they were great value at 1/3..still gutted about the handicap/bishopstown double as it would be as good as in right now...

    not backing bandon btw..

    went for this instead.
