just rang one of the lads from ballinhassig who will be going to the erins own game,,was talking to him anyway and he was not confedent at all.
there free taker michael has injured his knee at a recent training and sense its championship there taking a risk in starting him,he will be playing centre forward, also fintin is playing wing forward who also is half sick,
its now looking very good for erins own,and if i didnt have so mamy open bets i would be lumping on them big time/

I hope you right... i've a fair bit riding on them and there's nothing worse then your first selection failing. I'll probably go to the Faithleachas game tomorrow as it's just down the road so will post the result up here asap

this is the sort of info that the bookies cannot get there hands on,meaning the punter for a change has an advantage.get in...
    Erins Own 0-17,,,,Ballinhassig 1-11.....;)

Seriously why do you have to be so cocky all the time? erins own were a point down with almost five mins to go and were in serious danger. Also Ballinhassigs free taker was flawless from placed balls, i reckon he scored 7/8 points. EO showed good bottle and reserves, Ballinhassig gave a massive performance

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

ya but michael who was injured is usually there free taker but on this occasion wasnt the free taker.so my point was valid, but sense his replacement was just as good that did not play a factor..but before the game, which i was looking at would play a massive factor..

your critisizing my info in hindsight of the game, why dont you say anything before the game..correct me if im wrong but you were confedent of a erins own win and you too were not expecting the challenge that ballinhassig put up..

anyway doesnt matter first of the three are in, in my main bet..
    bring on tomo..;)

No I'm criticizing your comment and cockiness afterwards. And Michael Ahern did take their frees tonight as he usually does. Were you at the game?

oh well if thats the case i dont mind, thats me, take it or leave..
ive always been that way and i dont plan on changing.

not at the game but that "source" told me that he wouldnt be taking the frees so assumed it was some1 else that scored the 7/8 points..

im assuming sense he scored 7/8,erins own must of given away a lot of frees..i remember when valleys went down a man in the first 10 mins of the courceys game and still won by a point.the person who takes notes of the stats said we only gave away 3 frees in our own half, all in the first none in the secound,,,no doubt thats what won our game..

at present im writing a preview about the valleys game,no doubt in a bias manner...:pac:

    Valley Rovers v Courcey Rovers
    6/5...........8/1...............8/11
    win draw win

these two teams met back a couple of weeks were valleys just about edged it by the narrowest of margins.valleys got one of their best players their full back sent off in the opening 10 mins..but with the contribution of kevin canty(workhorse) center forward and hurleys long range frees was just enough to get them across the line.
as you prob know valleys won the double county last year, but have lost some serious players due to injury,
    chris o donovan(cork player)
    eamon collins(cork player)
    tadgh burke
    david lynch (suspension)

but due to players also returning from different countrys is has kinda balanced itself out, players wise, quality wise not by a long shot..
valleys are coming into the game after beating ballyhea, which was an upset, they played extremely good first half, lead by 7 at the break but let them back into it by getting 5 un answered scores, but when push came to shove valleys edged it by the single point again,a major contribution to that win was Kevin Canty(captain) and if valleys are to win sunday another big performance is needed.
the doubt about noel donovan missing for the game for gettin sent off against nemo is gone as the ref didnt hand in a report.(lucky)
our back line is one of the best conceding in average only 6 frees in our own half..and with a free taker like courceys dara lordan(cork minor) will be a massive help..

courceys have been in this grade for a long time now,not getting relegated, just about doing enough each year..a few players emmigrated last year and i think they are feeling the effects now.there is no doubt courceys have a better forward line than valleys but i see a low scoring game eventhough the sun will be spliting the stones down in kinsale at 6.30pm..
the key to any game is a good start but more importanly a good finish, and valley rovers have done that in a consistent basis over the past 3 years..
against ballyhea, courceys, aghada(last year),kilworth, the list goes on.
and again i see a very close game which more than emphasis the point of a strong finnish,i see a victory for valleys by 2 points.
i know i gave a lot more info about valleys but there my club and obviously know a lot more about them than any club we play.i tryednot to be biased but i feel the bookies got it wrong again,we have been the outsiders in all games this year..only reason i see for this is because we are newly promoted in both football/hurling..

will have a savour bet on the draw as the true chance of it occuring is more like 3-1..there is a definate chance of a draw..

Cloyne won by a point according to cork gaa website. Just 1 game to go now. Will post up the result of it straight after the final whistle.

St. Faithleachas won by 5pts. Seems like we've all profited fairly well from the shared info.

main danger would be dick turine for me if he stays.also has a great chance.
Very interesting that O'Brien only has the one horse here, too. I think Rip has been laid out for this and the price currently on offer is huge.

Hey Coughlan! Just thought I would pop in and say hello. Nice tip last weekend on the Hawthorn Hawks... ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

    hey,
thanks, i wanted to lump on them in a single bet but i had a lot of open bets and didnt want to risk losing the lot, instead resorted to doing a medium size bet in a double, unfortunately valleys couldnt do the business.

Yeah, I would have taken it if I had a bigger bank at the time. What do you think of Sunderland @2.70 to beat West Brom?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,899 ✭✭✭coughlan08

well its a great price, especially when you consider the hammering brom just got.
will have to look into it more tbh closer to the date and get some advice.
at a quick clance im looking at,
    West Brom v Sunderland 17/10
    Stoke v Tottenham 11/10
    West Brom v Sunderland over 2.5 11/10
Darren Bent any time goalscorer. no odds yet

What do you mean by that? Seems like a round about way of saying everyone here can't pick horses, although he did lose but that's awful harsh.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,339 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

I'd say he means it in a Murphy's law bad omen kind of way rather than the people here can't pick horses. You know when you fancy something and then you find out everyone and their mother is on it. And you get that feeling that because everyone favors an outcome the opposite will happen.

fair play, many others would keep on looking for that winner to get them back on level terms, wise choice,,im up a bit from the horses but if ever i am overall down in it, i will quit it in a heartbeat..

exactly what horseboxo has said.i would right the exact same thing as i have highlighted in his post..it was actually only yesterday or the day before where i was thanking people like nulty and others for giving me an insight into the horse betting world..
i would never even dream about slating others who bet on horses as they literally know 100s of times more info then i do about the sport.

for example the overs in the cardiff game where literally ever1 backed including me the selection that you gave 5points stake..,i too got that feeling that it would end up 0-0 or something, thankfully it didnt..it was that same feeling about dick turine today,
i even had €5 on as a cover bet just to be safe.
sorry if you took offence but none was intended.

I get you now! I think it's just the way it was phrased that confused me. Well done with RVW, Dick Turpin didn't get the trip and the pace was way too slow for him and RVW too but he ran soundly throughout, DT was running as free as the wind throughout.

    Keep up the good work.
