Does anyone know what that music is?

Long shot here but I remember when I was a child in the 80s one of the first pieces of classical music that I ever liked was on an ad for cadburys.

The ad consisted of a string quartet playing and one of the musicians had a caramello I think. He just took a bite and smiled at the others and they played some piece of music. Can't remember what it was but I loved it, it was one of the first times in my life that I actually listened to a piece of music and said, that's cool!

Would be great if any of you remembered the ad and the music.

Hope it's good now and not Pachelbel's canon or something!

I can see why you would suggest the first one, but no fruit and nut cases in this ad!

Second one is more likely, I'm fairly sure it was a slow movement. Nothing at all about it on google or youtube. Hope my memory isn't playing tricks on me...

God damn. I just spent 20 minutes on YouTube looking at Cadbury's ads but couldn't find anything like what you described.

I remember the ad but not the music. Image of a violinist playing a part of a slow movement alright while the caramello melted in his mouth.

I think it was a fairly standard repertoire 2nd movement of a string quartet.

Is my best guess.

If not, them maybe Dvorak New World quartet, otherwise Mozart or Haydn or Beethoven.
Dont think it was a rarity, and am sure it wasnt a purpose composed piece.
