Hey, looking for help! I have my first WHV (417) but I might not use it. I know I have 12 months to use it from the day the application was completed. If I dont enter australia within them 12 months can I get a WHV again?

For example, can I get another WHV in 18 months time? Should I contact the Australian department and cancel my current working holiday visa?

    Thanks!

    Hey

I dont think you can get it once the 12 months are up unfortunetly. dont know why they do that but thats the way it is.
Try here, give them a ring they will tell you straight away

Nope you are wrong, once you do not activate your WHV you can get another one if you are still eligible (under 31 etc)
For someone plugging their website you'd think you'd know your facts

    +1

You can get as many Oz WHV's as you like as long as you have not activated one previously...don't think they care as they get the fees each time...

NZ on the other hand do not do this and you only get one shot i.e. if you successfully apply for a visa and do not activate it within a year of approval you cannot re-apply again

Thanks all for the replies. Appreciated. I never got a reply from them with the enquiry form so I rang the australian immigration office in london.

'Hussey' and 'FreeAnd' are right. You can get another WHV as long as you dont activate one, provided you are still eligible. You will be charged the fees again tho. However if you intend to visit australia on a holiday in this time make sure you register as an eVisitor and your WHV will not come into effect.

    Cheers all
