which mtb for 1000

as thread suggests im looking for an mtb for 1000 for a friend. i myself have a canyon and find it hard to find anything better, any ideas for this price range/?>>?

Very good bike, but mountain biking is not really for me.

Hi, I have a Specialized Epic Comp FSR in large that I would let go for €950. It has an XT groupset, new XT tubeless wheels and Easton seatpost and handlebar stem, Ritchey carbon bars, XT pedals, FOX F100 forks all in perfect condition. The bike is full suspension and good enough to race on. I am selling it as I haven't used it since Xmas and I have 2 other mtb's and I ride road all the time!
