Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    :D
Mark Cavendish (HTC-Columbia) has taken his first victory of the 2010 season by winning stage two of the Tour of Catalonia in Spain.
Cavendish has suffered a slow start to his racing year thanks to a persistent tooth infection, but now he has opened his account for 2010 with a win at the ProTour-level stage race.
Arms aloft and big smile on his face, Cavendish took the bunch sprint win from Saxo Bank fastman Juan Jose Haedo in second and Spaniard Aitor Gonzalez (Euskaltel-Euskadi) in third.
Paul Voss (Milram) retains the overall lead after his surprise win in the opening 3.6km time trial on Monday. RadioShack duo Levi Leipheimer and Andreas Kloden are second and third on GC. Cavendish keeps hold of his seventh spot overall - with no time bonuses on offer his win has not enabled him to take the race lead as it might have done.
One rider who failed to sign on for stage two was Andy Schleck (Saxo Bank). The Tour de France hopeful withdrew from the race suffering with stomach problems.
Today's victory is Cavendish's 52nd pro win, and has particular resonance as the Manxman racked up his first pro win at the race in 2007, kicking off a remarkable career. Cavendish is Britain's most prolific professional, with more pro wins in his palmares than any other British rider in history.
