Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all!
I have a xp and windows 7 running with incident (until now) on a partitioned HDD internal.
I power up the pc goes through the usual and the asks me which OS would I like to run ,i choose 7 it states that it didnt close down properly and requests me to do a diganostic check(inbuilt in start up of 7) grand,I press enter and goes for a bout 5 seconds and powers off.
I reboot try XP same deal.
I reboot press F8 get into safe mode screen try that powers off also!
anyone any ideas how to breath life back into my pc?
I partitioned the HDD leaving 20gb for 7 and the rest for xp ,mind you the 7 area might be close to full but surely it would give me a warning before going pear shaped?!?
    any help a blessing!
    slan
    john:confused:

Sounds like a Physical Disk Drive failure. Before continue to make fallible attempts at this, I would take the Drive to a computer shop so they can read the error codes off of it with their fancy shmancy diagnostic jehoovits.

The Motherboard/BIOS is setup to Shut Off after the Disk Drive powers itself down (like it would during a normal shut down) In this case though the Hard Drive is losing power unexpectedly - likely due to something wrong with the drive.

Though heck - if youre lucky it might just be a loose power pin on the drive.
