Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today I got an iPod Touch from my folks for my birthday which was great except that it's only 8 gigs so I'm gonna change it for something with more capacity. But I'm not sure what to get...
My last mp3 player was a Creative Zen which was great until I killed it with a dodgey recharger and I'd gladly have one of these except that I've read on this forum that they aren't so good anymore.
The main things I want from an mp3 player is capacity - 100gbs would be loads - a decent random play function, and that it be compact. Aside from the limited capacity the size of the iPod Touch doesn't appeal to me either and all it's functions would probably be wasted on me too.
So I was thinking about getting a 160gb iPod Classic except that I've often read about compatibility issues with Apple products.
I've read through the FAQ thread which was very helpful but I'd be greatful if anyone could give some advice on what to buy before I make my own mind up.
    Thanks.:)

What sort of compatibility issues are these?

I had a 160GB iPod Classic and didn't have any problems with it. If only there was an iPod Touch with a hard-drive, I wouldn't mind the bigger size, it's a small price to pay for a larger capacity though I don't see Apple using the 320GB or 500GB 1.8" drives out there, I'm willing to bet the 320GB is the same price as the 160GB when they originally used it.

Well I went ahead and bought a 160GB iPod Classic and now I'm trying to get my head around it and iTunes. There are so many functons it's hard to know where to start but I've got the basics - installing iTunes, transfering music from pc to ipod etc.
However I'm struggling to import artwork. I'm being told I need an iTunes Store account but the iTunes webpage doesn't appear to have an option for signing up for a new account.
Also I'm wondering about the way the music is stored. Is it possible to...

You know, as I type this I'm reading through the iTunes Help File and it's very helpful. So I'll keep going with that for now and if I get really stuck I'll come back here for some advice.
    Thanks.
