Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is my 1st ever HDR - Think it was a better picture before I went near it.
Also it had more pop but lost it when I saved it as a jpg

The stone is straight its the gate that is wonky. No matter which way i turn it it still looks crooked

    I like this one.
It seems to me that I'm not allowed to thank. Maybe because I'm a newby? I have searched boards.ie for more than an hour to find out why not. The search wasn't successfully. So, I have chosen this way to give sprinkles a thank.

    Here we go.

This is the first raw I ever dealt with and the first one I ever tonemapped.
I have tried to be soft.

I've enjoyed this one. I tried something I'd never heard about until a week ago.

    Followed the tutorial here: http://quazen.com/arts/photography/how-to-make-hdr-photos/

Will have two more pictures tomorrow (local churches). They were all shot at night. This is the local Garda station.

Just picked up a dSLR so not very experienced (with the camera or HDR) but wanted to give this a try.

Attempt below - shot is of a trawler in Dunmore Harbor last night

    Slightly different angle:

    FB04736662804F3EA86BA38BCD5B9346-800.jpg

No real idea what HDR is, aside from "eliminating shadows". Had fun with the histogram on this one, so unsure if it's HDR or not. Plan to do some shots in the day time over the weekend. Putting together the other two HDR's atm.

1st Church is from Celbridge. I think it's the protestant one.

Don't think you can. Why would you want to anyway? It'll be a HUGE file.

Well, the only way I know how to do HDR is to put them through the process on CS4 photoshop which is very user friendly for dickheads like me.

But the only output from the process is PSD or TIFF (both of which leave me mind boggled).

I was just wondering if there was an idiot's guide as to how to get a Photoshop(PSD) created image - on to this thread?

Save the HDR off as a TIFF, then load the TIFF in PS4 and resave it as a JPG.

Yup. Change the mode (under Image) to 8 bits. You can then save it as a jpg file. I'd say it's 16 or 32 bits when you create the image, and jpg has to be 8 bits.

Here is a picture that I grabbed from digitalanarchy.com

Wow - seeing as how that plastic coke bottle in the Royal canal this morning got a few votes - I might try one more from my stroll this AM
( The Nikon D70 actually takes only one photo -and then creates three images on your card of that photo at the exposure gaps you have input)

Right, last one. I'm not a fan of HDR and cannot stand the overcooked ones. This is about as far as I'll go with it.
