Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

German car dips are atrocious tbh. Same on my audi a3 and they can't be raised. Horrible halogen bulbs. You could try replacing them with Xenon bulbs. I haven't got around to doing that yet though.

Did you mean low powered or aimed too low?

If you mean adjusting the angle, there's a small knob on the right hand side close to the lights switch, it's a push-in/push-out knob. That'll adjust the angle of the lights. Mine's a 2003 though, not sure if it was something added to later models.

I put in new halogen bulbs recently and they gave me some improvement to the light intensity as I do a lot of driving in darkness in the winter. Got them from micksgarage.ie. They were Osram Night Breakers.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I don't think you can just stick Xenon bulbs in - you'd need to upgrade the whole lamp.

So its the aiming of the lights thats the problem. Firstly, you will find a little knob to move the lights up & down. This should be set to the lowest number to ensure the lights are aimed as far down the road as possible.

Seeing as its the aiming of the lights, get this right first before going messing with bulbs.
You can get all sorts of bulbs with names that imply xenon lights but in reality they are just bulbs that give off a light colour like xenons. They wont offer the benefits of true xenon headlamps. So yes you can upgrade the bulbs but you are not upgrading to xenon lights as this does require complete headlamps, control unit & coding etc.

First thing to do is get the mechanic to check the headline alignment.
