jamie roberts had a very poor six nations. passed when he should have held on,held on when he should have passed.i expect more from a lion.
as i said o driscoll is over rated.

BOD would start any XV on the planet. I would start him 10 times more than Bastareaud.

    He creates, defend, offloads.

Not his fault if O'Gara or Sexton don't set a good platform. But remember that if ther is a gap for Bowe to run, someone has to open it  and BOD takes a few defenders.

i think he should during the lions tour that he is anything but overrated.. i also think it is fair to say that there is not a more complete back on the planet not to mind centre.Go watch the lions tests again everytime he got the ball he drew 2/3 defenders. But you put him and roberts together and they are excellent because defenders move to stop one and the other takes advantage of the space i think that a big powerfull runner like basteraud at 12 and drico 13 would provide another excellent combo.

Speaking as a person with relatives in South Africa and who has lived in Australia, they would certainly not agree with you.
BOD was voted player of the decade by Planet Rugby Readers which was voted on by rugby fans across the world. I think you are very much alone in your views.

BOD's 31, and with a Lions tour last year, he's practically not had a break. It's all well and good if you're 23, but that's just waaay to much to ask of a player as physical as O'Driscoll, in his thirties.
He hasn't had his best season, no. But watch him next year - a World Cup year, after a nice summer break.
The same was said of him in '08 (following a WC) - that he was past it, and he showed us once again last season. I don't know if some people are stupid, or don't learn, but either way, wait and see him prove people wrong again.

And Stephen Jones. Him and Stephen Jones (who's just completely written off France's World Cup chances *snigger*). Perfect company for each other.

There are 195 countries in the world and about 11 play rugby seriously and it's the national sport in maybe 4-5 of those countries.

I have to laugh at how rugby commentators and writer ****é on about teams or players being "world class" this and that....especially in Ireland

It's like the "World Series" in baseball...the rugby fraternity are just as insular...just a point about people having their heads far up their own arses.

p.s. Before anyone accuses me of trolling, I love rugby and go Provencial/International and domsestic fixtures on a regular basis....:)

Don't compare the game to soccer. Soccer is the exception to the rule given its global profile. Soccer is the biggest sport in the world by a country mile.
If you don't do this, then yes, rugby union (and its Sevens format too) truly can be considered an international sport.

Oh no I am not comparing it to soccer...I just find it a bit amusing to hear the likes of George Hook et al going on about "world class" when he really means...."The player is comparable to any player in Australia, NZ or SA.." The world is alot bigger than 3 countries IMO..:)

World class tends to mean equal to the best in the world. They do tend to be the best in the world.

    1. Ben Alexander
    2. William Servat
    3. Nicholas Mas
    4. Victor Matfield
    5. Dean Mumm
    6. Rocky Elsom
    7. Thierry Dusatoir
    8. Imanol Harinordoquy

    9. Will Genia
    10. Morne Steyn (Quade Cooper a very close second for me)
    11. Shane Williams (i'm not usually a big Ickle fan, but he's been great for Wales this 6 nations)
    12. Wyand Olivier (might seem a weird selection but he's been unreal this super 14 - he breaks the line every time.)
    13. BOD (i'm actually not that sure though)
    14. Tommy Bowe
    15. Lee Byrne (this might seem a bizarre selection, but in between his various moments of idiocy recently he's actually been good. He's the real deal at full back - great under the high ball, strong, attacking prowess.)
    dean mumm scored again today

all my players are internationals for the current irb world raniking top 4 teams.except my fullback and right winger who were both capped for new zealand at 7's level.dagg won the under 19's world cup with zach guildford and aaron cruden 18 months or so ago.he will be picked for the all blacks this year.ranger is a bit of a bolter but is a cracking player in extremely good form. i think o driscoll is over rated. i dont really want to get in to it but its my opinion. ive discussed it at lenght in other notorious threads.fourie is playing cracking rugby
24 points from dagg yesterday.ranger scored two more tries taday. polota nau scored again.top scoring forward in the super 14. stephen moore has his work cut out to get his place back from this guy.he is phenomenal
