Looking to get back into biking after a long spell away, and doing some searching came across this

May 30th 'Motorcycle Expo at Mondello Park' Motorcycle Show

(Actually when I came across it first it was 'Bike -Fest'???)

Does anyone know anything about this? Is this a trade only show?

Could this be the perfect place for me to go shopping?

I've nothing of it before, so it might be a trade thing. I hope it's otherwise.

'Mondello Motorcycle Expo' Live Action Show Launched

Irish Motorcycle enthusiasts will have a new form of Motorcycle show to look forward to in 2010 with the launch of the 'Mondello Motorcycle Expo'. The May 30th event will cater for all forms of motorcycling, both on and off road, with a huge emphasis on live action.

'Mondello Motorcycle Expo' will be a single day event featuring track and motocross racing, stunts, trials demonstrations, minimoto's, motorcycle club parade laps and a large exhibition area. The exhibition will encompass indoor facilities including the Mondello Park hospitality suites, pit garages and motorsport museum, and outdoor display areas in the circuits paddock, perimeter and off-road areas.

Already confirmed for the expo are BMW Motorrad and Yamaha with other manufacturers to be announced. Joining them in the exhibition area will be motorcycle clubs, including road and short circuit race organisers, touring clubs and vintage and classic owners clubs. Alongside the motorcycle exhibits there will also be a substantial trade area and additional show attractions which will be announced over the coming weeks.

On track action will centre around a pair of invitation races which will include an added twist and these will be backed up by stunt riding from Gary Rothwell and some more sedate classic bike and bike owners club parade laps. Out in the Mondello Park Off-Road Centre, motocross demonstrations will take place along with quad and off-road motorcycle tests. Rounding out the action will be a trials riding demonstration and some minimoto action.

Show visitors will have a lot to keep them busy and the added attraction of the opportunity to put their own road bike, classic or custom machine on display and enter the 'Bike of the Show' competition. The event will take place from 11:00 till 17:00 with non-stop track activity. Tickets will be available on the day at a cost of €15.00 for adults with children under 16 free. In addition, MCUI competition licence holders will be entitled to a €5.00 discount on production of their current 2010 licence.

Further information on the 'Mondello Motorcycle Expo' will be released in the run-up to the event and the latest news can be accessed through the Mondello Park web site, by subscribing to the free motorcycle expo text and email alert service, or by becoming a 'Mondello Motorcycle Expo' Facebook fan.

Sounds like it might be a good day, might just attend this.

    Just got this via email
Triumph to join BMW Motorrad and Yamaha at Mondello Motorcycle Expo

Preparations for the inaugural Mondello Motorcycle Expo are gathering pace with three manufacturers now confirmed and many more exhibitors set to join them at the May 30th event.

Mondello Motorcycle Expo will be a single day Motorbike festival covering all aspects of Motorcycling in Ireland with Road, Race and Off-Road enthusiasts catered for by the many attractions and exhibitors. The show will feature bike manufacturers, trade stands, static bike displays, owners clubs, racing organisations and a full day of track and off-road action.

The latest manufacturer to sign up to the show is Triumph who will join BMW Motorrad and Yamaha in exhibiting their 2010 machinery at the show. Further makes are expected to be confirmed over the coming weeks, making this one of the strongest Motorcycle shows ever staged in Ireland in terms of manufacturer support.

While the manufacturer displays will be the centrepiece of the road bike exhibition area the show will also include an off-road section. Yamaha and BMW will have models from their off-road ranges on display here with BMW exhibiting their Enduro machines and Yamaha displaying their Quad Bike range. The off-road section will also include MotoX machinery suppliers and off-road racing demonstrations.

The on-track line-up is also taking shape with the announcement of further track action to go with the races, stunt shows and trials demonstrations. For the first time at Mondello Park Drag Bikes will make an appearance with the West Cork Motorcycle Club bringing some of their top machines to display in the paddock and perform demonstration runs on the circuit's main straight. Also making their first on-track appearance at Mondello will be Mini-Moto's which will demonstrate their own unique brand of racing on a section of the Mondello Park National circuit.

Further announcements will be made over the coming weeks as the Mondello Motorcycle Expo line-up continues to grow into Irelands biggest ever single day Motorcycle Show. To keep up with all the show news spectators can visit the show pages on the Mondello Park web site where they can also sign up for the circuits free text and email alert service.
