Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One car did it - how many Lagunas have burst into flames at this stage?

We've recently had recalls for all the S40/V50 1.6d's and Focus 1.6d's built towards the end of 2006, as they may go up in flames if something wasn't changed.

Never heard anything about that here or on the news, but it affected more cars than any other recall I've ever seen.

A quick google leads me to believe that several Nanos have gone up in flames. A pattern is emerging...

I think it's a shame considering what it meant to motoring, but also inevitable considering the selling price. Corners had to be cut to produce so much for so little.

    Handy for cooking kebabs though

Did you read the article before you posted it.....

" The unnamed victim from Valenciennes used his electronic key to unlock the vehicle, at which point a spark from the security system ignited leaked gas from cylinders the man had rather ill-advisedly stored in the boot. The car was completely totalled in the blast, while the flying Frenchman as whisked to hospital with facial injuries. "

Now you can hardly blame any car company for the stupidity of its owner. Infact BMW are positively playing on the stupidity of their owners as a previous thread has shown. :D

You didn't read the links then? That was the funniest story, along with the Vel Satis kidnapping a family.

Thats what he claimed at the time but the driver was subsequently done for dangerous driving. Bit of a nut job more than anything. Another guy pulled a similar stunt in a truck around the same time, somewhere in Belgium IIRC.
