unlocking foreign phones and the iphone

    ok i know theres probably been posts on this before but am trying to get some info if anyone can help.
    Can the new iphone 3Gs be unlocked
    and
    if i buy a phone in england(say the new sony ericsson satio) can i unlock it in ireland and use it here

    Depends on the phone, and depends on who you buy it from.

    yes the 3gs can be unlocked. Not sure about the other one. If you cant do the sony from home you can always bring it into a shop and pay a few quid for it to be unlocked. Every phone can be unlocked as far as I know.
