Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Car slightly pulling to the left. Please help!

    I have a Ford Focus.
About 2 months ago I was driving to the airport and I got a flat tyre coming out of the port tunnel. The airport was 5 mins away so I drove on it the rest of the way.
The car was pulling strongly to the right. The alloy ended up cracked but I got it all fixed and the alloy welded.
Now it is slightly pulling to the left.
I have since got a new tyre as the other one was wrecked and have had the tracking done however it is still pulling to the left.

Does anyone know what this could be and how much it will cost to get fixed?
    Any help appreciated.

Get tyre pressures and tracking checked. Car should generally go slightly left due to road camber btw.

I'd hazard a guess it is because your front tyres are worn different ammounts, due to you getting new one on right. You could try swap your front wheels (make sure they are not directional, will be indicated by an arrow on tyre edge showing which way it should rotate) and see does it then drag to the right, in which case you'll know thats the cause.

I've a similar problem with mine pulling to one side as one of the tyres is worn more than the other, I'm due new tyres soon enough anyway so will be sorted then, I hope.

My car was pulling significicantly to the left when I first got it.
I got the wheel balancing, alignment and tracking done. Also got two new front tires and now its goes straight.

Though yesterday when I went over 80 the car felt a little unstable and was weaving about in the lane. I had to keep making constant small adjustments to keep the car from going too far right or too far left in the lane.

I think could be due to not enough pressure in my tires as they do seem a little deflated. I'll check the tire pressure today and see if it makes it any better. If not its back to the garage!!

Thanks for the replies but the car was grand before the flat. My tyres are all grand and it has been pulling to the left since that day.
As I have said I got the tracking done and he said it was only out by a tiny fraction but nothing has changed.
I also got the tyre balanced when I got the puncture fixed.
I think I might have done damage somewere when I was driving on it that day. It was really pulling to the right alot that day and now the left only slightly. Pain in my a**e.

    I could be the suspension.
My car has a leaking right shock and well its 11years old so the suspension is a bit worn out which is probably another reason why it's unstable and vibrates at high speed.

I decided to change the suspension on my car anyway. On the internet I found the shocks for £45 each. Add another 100odd euros in labour so thats about 250-300eurs I'm looking at.
