Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Help - what car (small budget)

    Hey all,

It has come time for me to replace my car which I managed to destroy in the lovely weather we had over christmas (Myself and a concrete partition on the dual carraigeway became intimate friends).

Anyway, long story short I don't really care what I drive so long as it goes from A to B and won't cost me an arm and a leg and isn't too embarrassing to be seen in.

I've a kid so a 5 door is preferable but not essential. Budget is about 800 cash.

I'd prefer a smaller engine (tax/petrol etc) but I've driven everything from a micra to a mazda 626 2L so I'm comfortable driving any engine size.

I hate micras, cinquecentos, puntos, corsas, picantos etc. (granny cars)

Was thinking almera, primera, astra but probably slightly over budget if I want something around a 99/00 without a shed load of mileage.

I don't want to have to NCT it either (not fussy at all, me! :D).

    Any suggestions/recommendations.

I know sfa about cars and the men in my family know even less.
