Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought a stereo for my car as it still has a tape deck in it :D

Anybody give me any guidelines to taking the tape deck out and putting the stereo in?

I'm a complete novice about anything like this, and if there's a risk ill f-ck it up Id rather leave it :D

Its a 02 colt if that's any help.

    thanks

Fairly easy to do once it's a standard sixe tape deck pretty much any CD player you see on the market will fit it. Hardest part is getting the old one out, there's usually slots in the front where you insert a tool or metal edge to release the old stereo, these can be purchased from the likes of Halfords for a couple of euro. The new one simply connects up with the cabling from the old, should be no need to solder or cut wires, simply connect the wires to it.

Yes most stereos are ISO standard which means it's usually a simple task of just removing the old one and plugging in the new one. However, some are not ISO and if that's the case an adapter loom can usually be purchased which will still make it a simple enough job. As mentioned earlier, you will need the correct tools to remove the original unit.
