Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
New to here. Just had car back kfrom mechanic. It had a couple of errors on dash. Turns out the pressure valve in abs unit needs to be replaced. Code was 5E20 pressure 1 electrical fault. Its a 2006 2.0l 318 petrol. Mechanic was saying that might be able to get this covered/partially covered under bmw good will at a main dealer? - Anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks,
    Al

I dont know anything about this specific ABS fault but I cannot see bmw covering it unless its a very common problem across the range and also that you have a full service history with BMW.

IF the couple of error on dash relate to the stability program and related items (which could possibly include abs), there is a known fault is relation to that on your model. Its a 2000 euro fix (control unit) but last I heard BMW were covering the part & looking for 700 labour.
So is it stability program lights that are on?

    Hi,
Yep thats it , its the 2 lights combined, the exclammation mark & the traingle with the arrow line around it, is it a common fault?

Well that sounds like the control unit fault thats breaking in 90% of 05/06 3 series that ive known. The pressure valve in the abs is possibly the fault it throws up, I wouldnt know about that. Best to call into a dealer, If it turns out to be the common fault, they will apply for a goodwill repair from bmw. take it from there

    Hi,
Thanks for that, just did a quick suss there online. Have come across it alright, if it is covered with goodwill, just a case of determining will they cover part and labour or just % of it etc.
    Thanks again
