During the nineties and noughties it was simple and sounded good on the ear, ie ninety-four-dee (94D), zero-zero-el-kay (00LK), etc, but how do you refer to a 2010 registered vehicle?

    I refer to a 2010 registered car as a: 110 votes

    Zero-ten
    0% 0 votes
    Ten
    31% 35 votes
    2010
    50% 56 votes
    Something else - please ellaborate
    17% 19 votes

    1 0 as in one-oh or one-zero.

o (as in pronounced oh) tens :) Being honest I have seen very very very few of them.

Most people seem to say 'twenty-ten' but it's not in your poll options!

I keep saying zero-ten out of a decade of habit, and I keep annoying myself when I do it.

It'll be "ten D" when I finally get into the habit.

I say zero ten. Started off by accident but when you think about it makes sense and everyone knows what you are talking about. Now everyone says it cos they all want to be cool like me like. :pac:

    I don't call 09's zero zero 9s

    10...just ten
010 sounds like you made a mistake and quickly realised

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,915 ✭✭✭GTE

    I don't call 09's zero zero 9s

    Thanks for the contribution lol

Seriously though, I think zero 10 makes more sense because for the past 9 years we have been saying zero 1, zero 2 etc. so by saying zero 10 its assumed you are talking about reg plates
The big question is what will be do in 2110 :O :O :O :O

Can those who voted Zero-ten please post up what decade they were born in.

I'm curious whether they are children of the Nine- sixties, Nine- seventies, Nine-eighties or the Nine-ninetys. :)

A bit off topic but what happens if someone imports a 1910 vehicle and doesn't wish to have ZV plates?

I've heard a few people referring to this decade as 'the teenies' but people just say '10 reg' in my experience.
