Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi guys,
looking towards next year and doing this event,
have a background in tri, and a little mountain biking,
what sort of training would be required for a solo mtb race,
i have an 10yr old cannondale hard tail, no disc brakes i'm afraid, would it be suitable, any advise/encouragement gratefully recieved.

Can't help you much with MTB preparations :(.

For the road event building endurance, working up to 400+ Km rides with core work in the gym from January onward is my preparation. I stay in reasonable shape over the winter anyway so its gentle and gradual. The route has been hilly each year so for me to improve losing weight and building strength would probably help.

If you think you might be able to do it - go for it. Riding through the night is a great achievement and it will stay on the cycling CV forever.
