Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've just had my car broken into by some inept joyriders. The car's starting but they busted my steering column. I was told it was handy enough to change, but looking online it seems like it's a biggish job. Can anyone tell me if it's do-able for someone with almost no car maintenance experience or tools and has anyone any…

Can anyone tell me if it's do-able for someone with almost no car maintenance experience or tools and has anyone any idea what a steering column on a 96 corolla might cost from a scrap yard?

It only needs to get me back to the scrap yard - I don't fancy shelling out to get it town away.

No idea, but I'm sure most decent scrapyards would be able to lift the car. If it's worth their while taking it, I wouldn't expect to be paying them to do so.....

Changing the column seems like an awful lot of work just to scrap the car, tbh.
