Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He looks like he's enjoying his football - definately more influential today than he has been all season. Good to see him linking the play so well along with Maxi who's been very good so far - don't like his playacting however he's a bit ott

aye maxi is very very good on the ball should stay on his feet and stop the maggot acting though.

I find it funny ye all getting work up over a poster saying torres shot was a deflection

Ah, well I hardly think its "lol @ thread" in fairness.

Didn't seem that way to me I have to say.

Òn the Torres goal the flight of the ball looked as if it had to take a deflection and that was my initial opinion that it must have been. I haven't seen any deflection in any of the replays though, but I don't have fancy slow motion stuff for replays.

    Pure class anyhow though.

He just can't score without a deflection I'd imagine :)

What a goal, so good every time, so clean, moves through the air untouched.

    Drink it in.

Pool hitting form at just the right time to clinch the 4th place the Flah predicted from the start.

Most enjoyable half of Liverpool football all season. Its put a big smile on my face! Great attacking fluidity, passing, movement and aggression. Torres, Gerrard, Masch, Johnson and Kuyt have all been great.

The only downside is wondering why we couldnt do this earlier in the season. We put plenty of these type of performances in last year, but this is the first one this time round. The aggression and attacking intent has been sorely missing this season.

Torres goal is definitely a contender for goal of the season. Definitely no deflection also. Whats he on now, 18 in something like 28 appearances ?

    100% no deflection.

They just showed a replay there that I didnt see during the game or on active.

It was an aerial view from the far corner and definitely no deflection.

That was the clearest view of the goal I have seen.

Think I'll rewind the first half and watch it again!

How in the world was Torres' goal intended as a cross? Nobody puts that amount of pace and power on a cross, and from the angle he was going in at he had shot written all over it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Lads, in fairness to Mitch, it did take a deflection. If you look at the goal again really closely, you'll see that when Babel heads it on, it takes a massive, massive deflection off Torres' right boot.

That's obv not true, did you not see the cross from Malouda for the first goal yesterday? He couldn't have hit it any harder. Torres must have seen match of the day last night and tried to replicate it but got under the ball by mistake.

Tbh I think he's done well overall.

been fantastic helping out insua at the back and making himself an option on every attack.

Bang, what a sexy little finish!
