Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

front USB ports won't respond

The two front USB ports on my PC have, in the last week or so, ceased to function. When I plug in any USB device it will flash (assuming it's a device with an indicator light) but not be recommended. I've tested with a LiveCD to eliminate the possibility of a software/OS problem.

I haven't opened the case in the last month, but it's not impossible that something got moved out of position while I was plugging cables in and out and moving the tower.

Are there any physical checks I can do to see why they might suddenly have stopped functioning?

Given that it's not a software problem, as confirmed by your use of a Live CD, and it's not a power problem, as confirmed by the devices lighting up, I would suggest maybe having a look to make sure that the connections to the motherboard are secure. Simply follow the wire coming from the USB ports back to the motherboard.

Failing that some motherboards come with extra headers for additional USB ports so it could be worth trying to plug the wires into these connectors instead. What sort of motherboard are you using?

I'll give it a shot. Motherboard is MS-7168 but I've no idea where the manual is.
