Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Everyone panning Campbell, he'll probably come on now and play a blinder.

He has scored against Barcelona before :pac:

Had to be getting one for the next foul anyway.
Now Song heading to centre back? If he doesn't tidy up a lot it ain't ending well.

Looks like Denilson to come in & Song to go CB. Probably right choice if true

Definite yellow as far as I'm concerned, stupid from Fabregas. Shouldn't have been on the pitch at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Busquets did his best to get him booked tbf.

Ibra wouldn't get his game with Luton Town playing like he is. Awful stuff from a seriously overrated footballer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Cesc came through the player from behind. You just can't do that. Stupid tackle.

Ibra:rolleyes: What the f*ck is he??

He is brutal, what a jammy bastard to somehow end up playing at a club like that. Last time I saw him being any good was on Championship Manager a few years ago!

Deadly, he won the ball but took yer man's leg as well. Contact from behind with a sliding tackle is always a yellow I thought.

If Cesc is carrying an injury and he doesn't look his best at the moment that could be a blessing. I would prefer a fully mobile player against this bunch next week than one thats carrying an injury.

How Arsenal have made it to half time at 0-0 is a mystery to me!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,933 ✭✭✭patrickc

well 45mins and 0-0 who would of thought that after that start.

    I'm off to the offie....

Feel sorry for fabregas. Clearly not fit and played out of desperation to play v barca. Yellow picked up and out of return game. Arsenals and any neutral observers loss.

How can we be so comprehensively thrashed for 45 minutes and still go in at half time 0-0?

The tie as a whole is not looking good, fair enough its still scoreless, maybe I should have said the potential is crumbling

I actually he will as well. Aand Bendnter probably will as well! :pac:

I tell you what though, Messi is like that Chinese guy who wears the white suit in the Simpsons. You just know he's gonna do something really cool any minute!

    Positives: haven't conceded
    Negatives: everything else

Barca have been sensational on the ball which is to be expected but Arsenal just haven't coped with their pressing at all. 45 minutes of deer-in-headlights, though it got a bit better as the half went on... offset by 3 players being out of the 2nd leg already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,748 ✭✭✭tony1kenobi

    Well that was a lesson.

Only silver lining from that half is that Fab is available for the semis.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Cesc and Gallas both obviously not fit.

On the bright side it is still 0-0, Arsenal can't play as bad as that in the 2ndd half, also feel Nasri has looked good.

Great game for the neutrals in fairness all we're missing is a goal

IMO yes he is.........honestly how Barca thought he was worth Eto'o plus a Nama sized payment is just mind boggling

Barca to win on paddy power is evens - its a good bet considering how the game is going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

So far, Barcelona have simply wanted this much more. They're the first to every 50:50 ball, they're much more tenacious in the tackle, they're tracking back; they might be playing some great football, but they're controlling the game because of their workrate.

However, they do look vulnerable at crosses. With Maxwell and Alves playing so far forward, Wenger should be urging his team to use the width of the pitch and capitalise on the aerial threat of Bendtner.
