I worked in enough places over the years in Waterford that would be double the fire cert every 5 or 6 days a week be it student nights or normal weekends, let alone bank holidays or spraoi weekends, fire chief was very very far down the list of worries to have on the night.

I spent a long time working in the nightclub industry myself so i know the score. The fire chief may be on way down on the list but all it takes is for a phone call by someone and the club will be shut down.

It is irresponsible by nightclub owners to let their venues get too packed as if there was an incident then lives are at stake. Ruby Lounge was always an accident waiting to happen. They used to pack that place out and the only clear exit was the bloody entrance in to the place. It was a crazy set up down there.

I know project student nights or any big nights can get ridiculously packed. They leave way too many people in and nobody can even walk to the bathroom freely everybody’s pushing and shoving!

It’s the office space above the reg but don’t let that ruin a bit of gossip

Does Project do underground gigs anymore? Shame Central Arts don’t do as many anymore, Factory seem to be the leaders of the pact, both underground and commercial

Of course it means much. If they get caught doing that they wont ever open again. The fire chief will have them shut down.

I think the legal capacity including the smoking area/workshop bit is over 1000 and close to 1100.

Lads I know work there and DJ there have saod almost all the events so far with the exception of the early ones have sold out. Was at Kerri Chandler last weekend and it was one of the best events ever .. super age range too , even an auld fella like me didn't feel out of place :)

Shame Waterford doesn’t have a DnB/jungle night. Market’s too small I guess, might be worth approaching Central Arts with the idea

Beerkeeper AKA Thirsty Scholar is closing

Glad to hear tbh. They didnt even have a sign on the place saying the name for 6 months and were charging top notch prices.

I got charged a tenner for a cocktail that was clearly just made out of **** diluted and alcohol. No freshness to it.

Bring back the thirsty scholar and 3.50 drinks!

Project seems to be falling flat, not open half the time from what I’m hearing
Anyone know how the Deisedome event went in terms of numbers Sat night? Very specialist

Somewhere Jim Gordon is smiling. I could see him swooping in there quite handy.

Flash was interested in buying t+h's before it went to auction and was sold for a higher price I believe. The new owners have worked out well anyway.

Great to see legendary DJ Andy Mac in the Kazbar (Waterford City) last night - a great show as always, hes a DJ worthy of national fame operating at a local level, suprised there wasnt a bigger crowd?

Andy Mac is a great DJ.

Cmon guys, do you not remember the good days in the Uluru? Or an afternoon Six in The Mix on BEAT FM which brought memories flooding back.

Does anyone know where I could sip on a refreshing beer?
    In a venue that's near?
And listen to the songs that I want to hear?
I think the answer is pretty clear

If theres one place your guaranteed the craic
And will leave you with a want to come back
Well head to Kaz Bar to see Andy Mac
Because you might even pick up a "lack"
