Flash got approval for it nearly two years ago, it's only being finished up now.
    Wrong place.

Yeah I've got the wrong one...just read casino and assumed it was the one going in behind Revs.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

There's one behind there too? Where the he'll have I been hiding these days.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,101 ✭✭✭MitchKoobski

I only spotted it yesterday while down the back alley heading to Centra. The small block of flats, basically the ground floor of that. Had the windows blacked out and Casino-esque images on em. Two lads dumping rubbish into a skip.

You should have popped in to be molested. They've been open a week. You can find them on Facebook as the Crystal Casino.

Anyone know what's happening with Muldoons?
Saw people working in there today.

Did I hear right that Harveys is closing this Monday for their renovations? Largest capacity nightclub in Ireland was the term I heard being thrown around last night. Would be very good news for The Foundry and their policy of charging. Revolution and Escape would probably be the big winners on nights where Masons will be starting to turn away people before 11!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

I heard that off a mate too. Surely just a rumor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

Facebook tells me that Avalon are playing there on St. Patricks Day so I can safely dismiss it as a rumour. It would surely be in their best interest to see how The Foundry perform before deciding to go ahead with their own multi-million refurbishment so I don't think we'll see any movement for at least a year.

No Harvey’s is still open. That’s not going to happen for a while yet if even, I personally think Harvey’s wont have to much to worry about with the Foundry as they will take the kids and scum from masons and the students will be finished in the next 2 months, I said this last week if people start paying to go into the foundry every other club should put a cover charge on, after all the moaning people done about Harvey’s with their cover charge, reading the foundry facebook people cant wait to pay in, If people don’t go to the foundry they will have to drop the charge on certain nights.

We are all still rostered for next week so i hope there not closing:eek:.Don't think anything like that will be going ahead anytime soon.Does depends on how much the foundry takes from harveys really

Ya has an air of a story overheard in a pub about it. I don't know why they would, the place is far from a **** hole and they just gotta see how the cards fall after the foundry opens.

Well they did get planning permission a while back for their own refurbishment. However, it wouldn't be the first time that they've presented grand plans to the public only to not do anything about it. My friends in Maynooth tell me that Mantra Bar is absolutely flying there as the only nightclub in the University town so there would be no shortage of money for a refurbishment in the near future.

Just a rumour ... Beer garden gettin touched up soon . . Waterford just cannot take that type of investment at the minute as it could not be justified .. Scary times ahead . I would hate to be opening a club as the door charge is the biggest problem

Interesting, I have been known on occasion to dabble in gaming. I may check it out.

Crystal Casino Located behind Revolution and masons in Johns Lane open 8-6am 7 nights a week and will be open for day time trade in the coming forthnight

Cheers, are you involved with it ya? Do ya know what the tables are and min/max stakes?

Sure I thought they cancelled the big renovation for Harveys?

Got too cocky thinking they had a monopoly on the students, ended up cutting prices and removing door charge just to keep going alright.

Is The Foundry 100% going ahead as planned to open tonight?
Still a lot of work going on in there (no carpets or anything on the ground floor)

I just asked on their facebook page if they would be ready for tonight and they answered yes. Seems like its gonna be cut very close!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,472 ✭✭✭AdMMM

As I said, the paint will still be wet on the walls. I seem to recall that Escape still had the tradesmen on its day of opening.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,588 ✭✭✭STIG83

Its definitely opening tonight because my sister is starting work there tonight.

Ill be surprised if it busy tonight, its strange for a Monday night opening. Im sure we will hear feedback from the place in the next few days.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,461 ✭✭✭Musicman2000

They should be, people going in for a nose around, More than likely if there is any teething problems before their busy nights to iron them out. Masons have 3 drinks for €10 tonight and free in. I know where I will be:)
